Join us for an empowering and informative Pelvic Floor 101 educational session followed by a 30 minute yoga flow where we incorporate the education. The workshop is designed to enhance your pelvic health knowledge, and bring you a deeper awareness and connection to your body. This workshop combines a comprehensive educational session on pelvic floor health with a gentle yoga flow, giving the participants the opportunity to practice mindfulness of the pelvic floor through their movement.
Whether you're looking to prevent discomfort, recover from childbirth, or simply build a stronger core foundation for your body, this workshop will give you the tools and knowledge to unlock the power of your pelvic floor.
The session will begin with a discussion on pelvic floor anatomy, function, and common challenges, breaking down the myths and giving you practical tips for integrating pelvic floor care into daily life with Dr. Alyssa Demeule, PT, DPT of MomLife Health & Wellness. Then, we’ll flow through a short yoga sequence specifically designed to promote mindfulness of the pelvic floor muscles with instructor Michelle Harrington.
No prior yoga experience is necessary—just bring your curiosity and a willingness to learn and move!

Michelle is a life long Boston resident and community activist and an “accidental yogi”. She is a breast cancer survivor who discovered yoga after the tragic death of her sister. Feeling depressed and unhealthy, she knew she needed a change. She decided to give yoga a try. After attending a Monday evening session in March 2017 at age 51, she was exhausted and had no idea what she was doing. She started doing private sessions with studio owner, David Vendetti while attending classes in the evenings.
She was originally focused on yoga classes but began taking Pilates classes and strength building classes. She was hooked and the changes soon came – she lost weight, got more range of motion and stands taller. She continued practicing and in June 2021 she completed her first 500 hour Yoga Teacher Training with the Yoga Liberation Front led by David Vendetti and completed her second 500 hour Yoga Teacher Training in April 2022 at the age of 56. She was then certified as a Pilates Instructor in September 2022.
Her mission is to encourage everyone at any age to try Yoga through her signature hybrid class “Yogalates/Strong Foundations" that combines yoga, strength building and all the props. Be prepared to laugh, work your glutes and abs and feel stronger in your body.
